A recent Financial Executive Research Foundation survey showed nearly 20% of finance executives polled indicated they reconciled anywhere from 501 to more than 10,000 accounts at least quarterly. More than 50% of the same group said their reconciliation process is manual. The amount of time spent on the reconciliation effort places a burden on finance departments and takes away from their ability to engage in strategic efforts and analysis. Businesses need access to real-time accurate information to make impactful decisions for forecasting and planning. As a result, understanding how to close the books faster is of critical importance.
Attendees will gain a better understanding of the benefits of closing the books faster (and see how it can be done) including:
- How faster close lowers costs
- Achieving better control
- Enabling continuous monitoring
- Better understanding of drivers
- Making GL data available sooner for analysis against approved budget
- Creating time for more strategic actions
- Building greater respect for finance
- Engaging deeper levels of participation
