FAQFrequently asked questions.
Everything a finance-team lead usually asks on the first call.
What kind of company is Centage?
Centage is a mid-market FP&A software company with a finance-fluent services layer. Software handles budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, consolidation, and reporting. Services cover onboarding, ongoing customer success, Advisory Hours, and a fully Managed FP&A option.
How is Centage different from Anaplan, Workday Adaptive Planning, or OneStream?
Enterprise FP&A platforms are powerful and typically priced in the $100K to $200K+ range with 6 to 12 month implementations run alongside a dedicated IT team. Centage covers multi-entity consolidation, built-in workforce planning, and scenario modeling starting at $699 per month, tailored to your business, run by finance, in 4 to 6 weeks. Compare on workforce module inclusion, implementation services, integration coverage, and support model.
How is Centage different from Excel or QuickBooks-native reporting?
Centage replaces the manual work spreadsheets and native GL reports cannot structurally do: automated consolidation across entities, live ERP and HRIS data, audit trails, approval workflows, and a dedicated workforce planning module. Existing budget templates import directly during implementation.
What does Centage cost?
Centage FP&A software starts at $699 per month, tailored to your business. Every subscription is custom-priced against three inputs: how many entities you consolidate, how big your chart of accounts is, and how many users need access. Managed FP&A adds a services layer priced during discovery. Advisory Hours are reserved-block engagements with a Centage Financial Advisor, also priced during discovery. Book a demo and you leave with a custom quote.
What is Managed FP&A or FP&A as a Service?
A dedicated Centage advisor builds your budget model in Centage over 90 days, delivers a board-ready reporting package at go-live, runs a quarterly reforecast, and stays on your account every month. Same advisor for the life of your contract. Priced during discovery, against your entity count, board-pack scope, and reforecast cadence. Details at centage.com/fpa-as-a-service.
Do we need an IT team to implement Centage?
No. Centage is finance-owned. AI handles ERP mapping and chart-of-accounts grouping. A Centage implementation specialist runs the integration and template setup. Most customers do not involve their IT team at all.
How long does implementation take?
Standard software implementation runs 4 to 6 weeks, from kickoff to first live budget cycle. Managed FP&A runs a 90-day end-to-end build (21 days discovery, 39 days build, 30 days UAT and handoff).
Who is Centage for?
Finance teams at growing mid-market companies with $25M to $500M in revenue (or $5M to $100M in operating budget for nonprofits), 2 to 10 person finance teams, and multi-department, multi-location, or multi-entity complexity that spreadsheets or QuickBooks-native reporting can no longer hold.
Where is Centage a stretch?
Fortune 500-scale companies with a dedicated FP&A department are usually better served by an enterprise FP&A platform. Single-person finance teams under $5M in revenue with a single entity and a single-page P&L are usually early for us.
Where is Centage headquartered?
San Antonio, Texas. Originally founded in Boston, Massachusetts in 2001.
Can we talk to a real Centage customer before buying?
Reference calls are a standard part of the evaluation process for anyone in active consideration. Ask your sales contact for a reference in your industry or of comparable size.
What is Centage's security and compliance posture?
Centage is a cloud-hosted FP&A platform. For security-review workflows, request the current SOC report, access-control documentation, and data-handling summary directly from your sales contact during evaluation.
Which industries does Centage serve?
Manufacturing, Distribution, Professional Services, Technology, Healthcare, Non-Profit, Education, and Hospitality. Non-profits with complex fund allocation and multi-location healthcare, education, and social-services organizations are especially well-served.
